FERRUM LODGE No.1848.
Ferrum Lodge was formed on 21st January 1880. Its meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from September to May
(There are no meetings in June, July&August.) inclusive at the Masonic Hall, Middlesbrough.
The aim of our meetings, in addition to dealing with procedural matters, is to have fun, make friends and generally have a pleasant evening.
Translated from the Latin, Ferrum means ‘of Iron’ and is a reference to Middlesbrough’s major industry of Iron and Steel, which was the case when the Lodge was created.
The Lodge crest depicts a blacksmith at his anvil working a piece of iron and the Lodge Banner, which is similar in detail, has Roseberry Topping in the background.
Ferrum Lodge welcomes men from every walk of life.
Its youngest member is 22 years of age. It has approximately 50 members.
Whilst never losing sight of its values and traditions Ferrum Lodge is constantly seeking to modernise and bring new and innovative ideas into Freemasonry.
Ferrum Lodge is very proud of it’s Charitable giving. Every member makes donations to Masonic Charities through the Lodge. Money is also raised through raffles and social events. The biggest Social/Charity Raising event is an Annual Dinner Dance, which is referred to as a Ladies Night. (This is held in November every year.) The money raised is either given directly to Local Charities or forwarded for distributing both Nationally Internationally to deserving causes.
Ferrum Chapter meetings are held on 1st Tuesday of October
(Installation), December, February and April.
Further information can be obtained by sending an e-mail to ferruminformation@ntlworld.com or writing to the Secretary, Ferrum Lodge, Masonic Hall, Roman Road, Middlesbrough.

This year we are holding our Ladies Evening at The Marton Hotel & Country Club. The venue is ideally situated with easy access and adequate car parking facilities.
Entertainment will be provided by The Paul James Band. If you would like to check them out, click on the link – pauljamesband.co.uk/demos.php
We are hoping to raise money for our chosen charities, so we will be running a raffle and tombola during the evening.
Ann and I would be delighted if you could join us for this special occasion.
